Before the chamber
Fast according to clinic instructions; remove jewelry and implants that interfere with monitoring. You will receive a personalized nutrient prime and a sedative administered by a flight surgeon. Ask questions until you are bored — that is the correct amount.
During transit
Vital signs are monitored continuously. Automated systems maintain temperature and perfusion; human crew perform rounds on a staggered schedule. In the unlikely event of an anomaly, protocols prioritize safe thaw over schedule.
Revival
Waking takes minutes to hours. Expect grogginess, mild nausea, and emotional whiplash — “time shock” is normal. Medical staff guide you through reorientation; loved ones are contacted only after you are stable.
Risks (plain language)
Rare complications include neurological irritation, temporary motor impairment, or allergic response to preservative compounds. Your consent form enumerates frequencies; Pre-Flight Medical covers screening.
Psychological support is available pre- and post-flight through Mission Control. See Contact Mission Control for counseling referrals.
